La Fiere Manor: elements of the 1057th Grenadier Regiment and 100th Replacement Battalion managed to get across the causeway at La Fiere and capture the manor. Although German casualties were on the heavy side, especially in the assaulting company, the American paratroopers were forced out of their initial position around the bridge and La Fiere manor. A tactical win for the Germans, who managed to get three fully functioning tanks across the causeway. Søren
