Case White: the Assault on Sochaczew, 13 September 1939
Using TFLs ruleset I Ain’t Been Shot, Mum with a scenario by Rob Avery taken from the Lardies Summer Special 2017, Dave made a welcome return with his Polish and pitched them against my early war Germans. An interesting attack and defend scenario with a time limit so it’s Blitzkreig or bust for Gerry!

The Poles are all on hidden Blinds and the German force entered on Blinds.

Led by Richard Hudson in his ‘little tank’, Dale Askew and I could only watch in wonder as he speed full speed towards the town with his entourage of Panzer I tanks. In the town Dave and Barry Foster waited, anti tank guns and anti-tank rifles at the ready…

The Germans enter the table on Blinds. The ruin centre top of the picture holds two Polish 37mm AT guns in its grounds. These would go on to cause much consternation to the Panzers.

Richard’s Armoured Big Man encounters a little engine trouble after a direct hit from a Polish AT gun

“Donner und blitzen! Hans, more speed!"

The German heavy weapons platoon arrives.

The large factory top right saw lots of intense fighting between Polish riflemen and a platoon of SS troops.

Richard’s Panzer HQ Platoon taking hits from the AT guns. Polish poor dice rolls resulted in more shock and minor engine damage than outright kills. The Blitzkreig continued relentless.

Panzer Is of the HQ Platoon are joined by two Panzer IVA support tanks. Their short 75mm guns idea for lobbing HE at the troublesome AT guns.

Dale’s Panzer III's suffer a brew up: hit in the flank by guess who? Yup the dreaded 37mm guns again.

Time to get the two German FOOs earning their corn and organise a little HE from the stack of off board artillery available to them.
