Here is the fifth after action report of a demo game with the scenario "Let’s get at the Bastards" from the supplement Cymru am Byth of the Too Fat Lardies.

On the 9th of August, 1944, northeast of Vire in the bocage, the Welsh Guards supported by tanks of the Scots Guards have to capture a group of buildings on the heights named Le Haut-Perrier. The position is held by elements of the 9. SS Panzer Division Hohenstaufen.

With the threat of the German flanking move, the British right wing stays in position behind the hedgerows

Well-adjusted mortar shelling hits the centre of the British line

The British left wing manages to flank the German defence

The Germans adjust their defensive deployment

The British right wing tries to contain the German counter-attack

The British left wing and centre move towards the hamlet

The British right wing is severely shaken by the German counter-attack

There is a fierce battle near the stables

The Germans adopt a new defensive position on the right side of the hamlet

Result: a marginal victory for the German side. They kept control of one part of the hamlet and inflicted severe casualties to the British Guards
